Our Services

Sickness Certificates
For the first 5 working days lost through illness, you do not need a certificate from your doctor. A form SC1 (self certification) covers this period and is available from your employer. You will need to see your doctor if your absence is for longer or if your employer requires a private certificate.

Practice Nurse
Our Practice Nurse offers the following services: Dressings and removal of stitches, ear syringing, travel immunisations, childhood immunisations, flu vaccinations, blood and urine tests, cervical smears, contraceptive advice and general first aid advice. She also runs clinics for CHD, Asthma, Diabetes, High blood pressure, Weight control and over 75 health checks.

Health Care Assistant
Our Health Care Assistant offers the following services: Blood and urine tests, new patient checks, contraception checks, blood pressure checks, spirometry and COPD.

Maternity Care
Our Midwife provides antenatal and postnatal care. She can be contacted at the Bulwell Riverside tel 0115 9770022.

District Nurses
Our District Nurses provide nursing care of the acutely and chronically sick. They will visit you at home if you condition requires it. If you need a district nurse contact the surgery on 0115 9756501

Health Visitors
Our Health Visitors provide health advice and help for families with young children. You can contact them by telephoning Bulwell Riverside on 0115 9770022.

Minor Surgery
Minor operations can be performed at the surgery. This is by appointment only and must be discussed with the doctor first.

Weight Management
Please make an appointment with the Practice Nurse or Health Care Assistant for a referral to this service.

Cervical, Breast and Bowel Screening
Please make an appointment with the Practice Nurse or Health Care Assistant for screening and assistance.

Telephone Consultations
GP telephone consultations are available during opening hours.

Chaperone Services
All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination or procedure where they consider one is necessary. Please do not hesitate to ask.
